How's it been reliability wise? I wanna get my parents into one of these because they look great, drive great, and are the perfect size (not too big).

No problems at all. Only thing is it uses a quart of oil every 1000-1500 miles, but “they all do that.”
I hear of horror stories with the 4.8 engine and funky electronics, but I guess I’ve been lucky. Always get the warranty though.

I’m about 2000 more pounds. How’s the M3 though? Test drove one years back and it was amazing. Too much power to be my daily though

It’s awesome, everything I thought it’d be. I love it. You kinda gotta drive it hard to go fast, the power doesn’t really come on until above 3k rpm, I didn’t have a normal job so it was my days off car and I drove my explorer and later my 128i back and forth to the yard where it’d sit when I was working in the field.

Dear God, my parents have a 30i and I can say that without a doubt it is hell. They bought it cpo so after the warranty expired they were on their own. Every single time I see that car I try to not imagine what horror lies next for them.

Mostly cosmetic...new wheels, probably lower it a bit. I keep seeing these supercharger kits for the 4.8, but I feel like it’s just a death wish. Oh, maybe an exhaust. The stock exhaust sounds great when you get on it, but I’d prefer that sound at all times.
I might change to the LCI front and rear lights, but at that point, I’ll probably just get a F15.
I come from an e39 530i, and I have to admit, I do miss that “pure” Bmw driving experience. Sometimes this thing feels like a relatively quick, fully loaded washing machine (appliance). The size is comforting is NYC though. That cocoon feeling (and the fact that people do get the F out of your way).

I might look at one again. It was a super fun car to drive when I test drove it, just a little small for my size(5'11, 250#). I might look at a M5-lite (550 with m-performance parts) for my next car.

The wheels off the sport package 4.8i are awesome. If you want nicer halos, just get a set of lux AE’s. Put them on my E92 335i and they look awesome. Lci tails are next.
I totally feel you on pureness, the E39 is so great in that factor.

As far as I can tell it’s not burning or leaking oil, but then that’s what the sensor tells me, but as you know I don’t have a dipstick, so I can’t verify. They did change the head gasket before I took ownership of the car cause it was leaking oil, but I haven’t seen anything under the car and the engine is still pretty clean, of oil at least.

I drive a Prius to commute to and from work. 50MPG both ways on the highway. Totally worth it for the extra money I save.

How have you liked your E70? I am seriously considering purchasing one because I need a car for winter now. I know the 4.8s have their share of issues, but it looks like they are optioned more closely to what I would want.
I really prefer the look of the pre-facelift ones, and it would have to be Monaco Blue.

Oh I heard that's easily obtained in the 3 series diesel. I thought you were referring to the X5 diesel
